Crooked Forest
November 2015
This is the photo that I used as my inspiration. The background was the hardest part because there was a little area between the trees to add the other trees. I had difficulty in drawing the shading that is in the grass and in the dirt.
This piece is my favorite because I was able to see this forest in Poland. What made it even more fun to do was that we got lost on the way to finding it and being able to drive through the country side of Poland where there was so many trees was just amazing to be able to see the difference between Poland and Wisconsin.

This is my very rough sketch that I did based off the photo. I decided not to do it in color because I wasn't sure if I was going do it in color or not. I decided to do it in color because it would look better. I did it in black and white because I thought that I was going to do it in black and white in the artwork but I didnt because I thought that the color should be incorporated to emphasis they way that it looked. I also thought that it showed the contrast between the trees, background, and foreground.
This is my inspiration for my piece. I used this one because it had movement which I tried to replicated. However I think that it shows some movement but it doesnt have as much movement that other impressionism pieces have.
